Tecnisol

  • Generation: Solar

  • Start of operation: August 2018

  • Installed capacity: 40 MW

  • Location: Office’s address: Finca Hicaco in David (Chiriquí Province), Panama

Tecnisol is InterEnergy’s first photovoltaic project in Central America. It began supplying electricity to the national grid in August 2018. Located in the province of Chiriquí on a 97.8-hectare plot of land, Tecnisol has four separate 10MW single axis tracker PV power plants and 138,960 solar panels, that together have a nominal power of 40 MWAC.

It produces an annual contribution of 88.75 GWh of clean energy to the energy matrix of Panama, which means meeting the electricity demand of 49 thousand families on average. This technology eliminates the need for approximately 153,000 barrels of crude oil per year.
